Artificial Intelligence (AI), also known as machine intelligence, is a branch of computer science that
focuses on building and managing technology that can learn to autonomously make decisions and carry
out actions on behalf of a human being.1 AI models, such as Chat GPT, are currently being applied to a
host of legal tasks such as research, evaluation, litigation prediction analysis, contract review, and
generation of documents. AI can improve and aid service delivery for Legal practitioners and can save
time, by aiding the judges in the decision making process.

through shelves to find a law report, a journal or a digest. Tasks such as document review has now been
automated by AI.
Generation of legal documents: AI can generate and draft legal documents such as motions, writs and

can help both the lawyer and the judge to identify strength and weaknesses in legal documents. And this
will aid in reaching more informed decisions and conclusions.
