Age Limit
All candidates applying must be between the age of 21(minimum) - 42 years(Maximum).
There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and OBC, 3 years than the maximum age limit for unmarried women and 10 years for PWDs.
Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the position, it is mandatory for the candidate to hold a Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university or institute. The minimum percentage requirement for the educational qualification has not been specified.

Syllabus
There are two written papers in the civil judge exam.

Exam Pattern (Prelims)
The test is a multiple-choice based paper, consisting of 125 questions carrying 4 marks each and the candidate needs to score at least 150 marks for qualifying for the mains exam. The time limit is 2 hours for the entire paper.

Interview
After clearing the mains cutoff, candidates are required to appear for an interview which is worth 100 marks. It is mandatory for all the candidates to secure at least 50% marks in both the mains and interview in order to qualify for the selection process.
