Introduction

The SLS AIAT exam is held annually for students who aspire to excel in the legal profession. The exam aims to equip students with legal knowledge across various legal spheres and skills required to perform various legal professional roles beyond the traditional role of a litigator. This helps students link their domain knowledge to the legal profession and succeed.

Authority and Admissions

Symbiosis International University(SIU) conducts the Symbiosis Law School All India Admission Test (SLS AIAT) for admission into three-year LLB offered by SLS Pune and one-year LLM programs offered by the four Symbiosis law schools.

Eligibility

For 3-year LLB

  • Candidate must have completed graduation from any recognized university with a minimum of 45% marks(for the general category) and 40% (for SC/ST)

  • Candidates who have appeared or may be appearing for the qualifying degree examination and are awaiting their results can also apply for the programme. Candidates will need to submit their passing certificate at the time of admission though.


For LLM

  • Candidates must have completed a three or five-year LLB degree from any recognized university certified by UGC with at least 50% marks and 45% for SC/St Category.

  • Candidates who have appeared for the final year LLB examination can also apply.



Application Fees

For 3-year LLB

The fee for SLS AIAT for 3 years LLB is 2000 rupees accepted online through RTGS/Credit Card/Debit Card/NEFT


For LLM

The application fee for a one-year LLM is 1,950 rupees + 1000 rupees for each law school accepted online through RTGS/Credit Card/Debit Card/NEFT

Admission to a three-year LL.B. is offered through the Symbiosis All India Admission Test (AIAT).



About the Paper(Structure)

AIAT exams consist of a Written and a Personal Interaction way of testing:

(A) Online Home-Based Proctored Written Test (AIAT): 

  • Writing subjective Questions- 40 marks each, 65 minutes.

  • 10 objective questions - 20 marks - 20 minutes, 

  • Psychometric Test - 20 minutes - 10 marks. 

  • Max. Marks- 60 marks

  • Weightage(written test)- 70%

  • No Negative Marking


The candidates are required to answer the question under a specified amount of time and no other chance will be given after the time is over as the answer gets locked after the stipulated time is over.


(B) Online Personal Interaction (PI): 

There will be a total of 30 marks for PI(30% weightage): Personal Interaction is intended to test the personal attributes, experience, global outlook, professionalism, ethics and values and the Statement of Purpose of a candidate. 


A) Schedule for SLS, Pune Online PI (Personal Interaction): SLS, Pune will conduct Online PI (Personal Interaction) around June or July.

B) Time for PI: Each candidate will get 6 to 8 minutes maximum for PI. The candidate needs to be ready at the specified time without any excuses with the instructions given by SLS, Pune-SIU. 


Note: Candidates are requested to upload the Statement of Purpose (SOP)-(250 words), and the Letter of Recommendation digitally mentioning conduct, character, etc. (the reference letter shall be from the Head/Supervisor/Professor of your Institute/College) and other documents which would be required as per the schedule of AIAT. 


After successful completion of the written test, candidates will be invited for the PI process provided by the institute. Candidates are required to keep the original documents mentioned for the PI process.
