Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Three Advocates for Elevation to Rajasthan High Court
In a special meeting, on 29th may the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended three eminent advocates to be appointed as judges of the Rajasthan High Court. The Supreme Court has earlier approved names of 7 advocates out of the approved names of 14 advocates recommended by the collegium of Rajasthan High court headed by Chief justice MH Srivastav last year.
The collegium has cleared the following names for the appointment:
1. Shri Bipin Gupta
2. Shri Sanjeet Purohit
3. Shri Ravi Chirania
These appointments are part of the process of strengthening the judiciary and the current vacancies in the high courts are filling up with these recommendations to the government which the government will now issue appointment orders.
The new chief justice of India (B.R. Gavai) will have his work cut out with the new collegium.
