My landlord is refusing to make necessary repairs. What are my rights as a tenant, and what legal actions can I take?

As a tenant, after fulfilling your duty to notify the landlord regarding the same, Under Sec 76 of the Transfer Of Property Act, 1882; you have the right to make necessary repairs out of your own income and deduct the same from rent or profits advanced to the mortgagor or the principal money.
