The limitation period for filing a suit for recovery of money in India is three years from the date when the right to sue occurs and it prescribes under Article 24 of Schedule of Limitation Act, 1963.
The limitation period for filing a suit relating to possession of immovable property is 12 years under Article 65 of Limitation Act's Schedule.
