What is judicial separation and how is it different from divorce?

Judicial separation (under Section 10 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955) is a court order that allows spouses to live apart legally, but their marriage does not end. On the other hand, divorce dissolves the marriage permanently. Think of judicial separation as a legal break, not a legal end.
