The Bar Council of India (BCI) has strict attendance rules for all LL.B. students. According to BCI, every student must have at least 70% attendance in each subject during the semester or academic year. This includes classroom teaching, practical training, moot courts, and other academic activities. If a student has less than 70% attendance, the college can stop them from appearing in the exams.
Some universities allow a small relaxation in special cases like medical emergencies, but only if proper documents are submitted. Even then, attendance cannot be reduced too much because BCI wants students to learn law through regular classes, discussions, and practical work.
In simple words, attending classes is very important in LL.B. If you want to sit for exams and later enroll as a lawyer, you must maintain good attendance and follow all BCI rules.
