Yes, migration from one law college to another is allowed under Bar Council of India (BCI) rules, but only if certain conditions are followed. Migration means shifting from your current law college to a new law college during your LL.B. course.
The most important rule is that both colleges must be recognized by the BCI. You cannot migrate to or from a college that is not approved. Students usually migrate for reasons like family shifts, health issues, or better facilities in another college.
To migrate, a student must take a āNo Objection Certificateā (NOC) from their current college. The new college must also give an acceptance letter saying they are ready to admit the student. After this, the student submits all documentsāmark sheets, attendance records, NOC, and the migration form.
Colleges also have limits on how many students they can accept under migration, so approval depends on seat availability. Some universities allow migration only within the same university system, while others allow migration between different universities.
In simple words, migration is possible, but the student must follow all rules of the college, university, and BCI. Once approved, the student continues their LL.B. without losing their academic progress.
