Yes, AIBE does have a form of reservation, but it works in a simple and fair way. AIBE is not a competitive exam, so there are no seats or ranks. Instead, it is only a qualifying exam that checks whether a new lawyer has basic legal knowledge. Because of this, AIBE gives relaxation in the minimum passing marks for certain categories.

Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories get a lower qualifying score compared to general category candidates. This means they need fewer marks to pass the AIBE. The goal is to support students from different backgrounds and make the legal profession accessible to everyone.

However, apart from this passing-mark relaxation, there is no reservation in exam centers, question papers, or registration. Everyone appears for the same exam. So, the reservation system in AIBE is limited and only meant to ensure equal opportunity for all candidates.
