About the Position

State Legal Head – Gujarat

Location: Ahmedabad

Hero Housing Finance is inviting applications for the role of State Legal Head – Gujarat, to be based at its Ahmedabad office. This is a senior legal role involving end-to-end legal oversight of secured SME lending transactions and close coordination with internal teams and external counsels.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Review and vet Title Search Reports (TSRs) received from empanelled advocates for disbursement of secured SME loans.

Provide legal opinions, advisory support, and strategic inputs to the Business and Credit Teams to facilitate smooth and compliant lending operations.

Coordinate with external lawyers to resolve legal queries and ensure timely closure within defined Turnaround Time (TAT).

Possess strong working knowledge of creation of security interests, particularly mortgages.

Vet and suggest modifications to legal drafts such as Indemnities, Undertakings, and related documents, in line with business and credit requirements.

Review executed mortgage and security documents and provide legal guidance wherever required.

Evaluate and recommend empanelment of advocates based on credentials and submitted documentation.

Conduct legal research on applicable laws, regulations, and judicial precedents relevant to SME lending.

Advise and counsel Business/Credit Teams on legal risks, compliance requirements, and available legal options.

Maintain accurate records of advocate interactions, legal opinions, and a comprehensive tracker of TSRs vetted for secured properties.
